DUVAL TOP10 POWER POLLS W2 M.S.

Updated: Oct 16, 2018

DUVAL FLORIDA-

The Ribault Colts trampled the 1-1 OceanWay Bucs 44-6 to remain atop the polls for the 2nd week in a row. Jalen Armstead and Kevin Stokes combined for 4 TDs while, QB Tyrese Smith, and Aths Derrick Snider, and Tadarius Devoe each had a TD . The Colts defense was dominant as well. Jeris White controlled up front helping keep the Bucs offense to a minimum all game. Cavon Cooper blocked a punt to help set up 1 of Armstead's short TD runs. The Colts will host 0-1 Kirby Comets who dropped out of the polls after being shut out in front of a packed in school crowd 20-0 by the Highlands Wildcats.

Marcus Solomon, Roman Doles, and Deshyh Beufort all saw the endzone and played key roles on defense along with Kevion Young, Jamari Allen all helped take the steam out of the Comets offense. Ath Deshyh Beufort was the best player on the field scoring on a 70+ yard TD run on the Wildcat's 1st series but the score was negated due to an illegal block. Beufort also went up over 2 defenders for a would be great TD grab but he wasn't able to hang on to the Doles Pass. If Highlands can clean up those mistakes they will be trouble for the city.

The Gilbert Panthers showed their true dominance by clawing up the Northwestern YellowJackets 30-0. Carlos Rogers led the defense with 5.5 tackles. Trashawn Dunham, Justin Bradley, Darnell Rogers, and Ath Davion Brown had big games on defense as well. Trashawn Dunham led the way on offense rushing 5x for 93yds and 2tds Justin Bradley rushed 6x for 78yds and 1 TD. The undefeated Panthers will host the 1-1 Oceanway Bucs. Gilbert will be the heavy favorite to the game over the Bucs.

MARK MILLER 3TDS VS KERNAN

The Baldwin Indians got in the win column by blowing out the Kernan Ospreys 48-8. Ath Mark Miller had 3 total touchdowns 1 of which was a 70+ yard kick off return. Miller also had a td called back. The Indians will need another stellar performance out of Miller if they want to secure an important district win over 0-1 Stilwell Tuesday at 1:30.

The Patriots are coming off an loss and a bye so they will be eager to get the win as well in front of the home crowd.

Jeff Davis once again dominated another crosstown opponent in 0-2 Fletcher 24-8 on their charge to make it back to the title game. The Chargers were led by its daunted rushing attack that includes Xavier Baldwin, Zion Pittman, Alonso Cannon, Gabriel Jordan, Jabari King, and Michael Harper Jr.

Jeff Davis received the ball to open the game and drove it down the field to the 12yd line but Marshall Evans came up with a huge stop on 4th and short to force a turn over on downs. Ath Lundy would seemingly put the Senators on the board on their possession with a 88yd td run but the score was called back on a penalty. Fletcher would be forced to punt to open the 2nd quarter, and the Chargers rushing attack would get the ball and drive it 57yds to set up Zion Pittman 1yd TD run. Gabriel Garmon would sneak in the 2pt run and the Chargers would lead it 8-0 with just over 1 minute to play in the 2nd period. The score would be 8-0 at the half. The Senators received the ball 1st in the 3rd period and was forced to punt. Xavier Baldwin 15yd run and Jabari King 20yd run to close the 3rd quarter help set up Gabriel Garmon 8yd TD score on the 2nd play of the 4th. Garmon would hit Anthony Glover on the 2pt pass to take a 16-0 lead. Donald would take the ensuing kickoff to the house and Dale Stuhr 2pt run would be good and the score would be 16-8 with 6:27 to play in the game. Xavier Baldwin would score on a 20yd to widen the lead to 24-8 with just over 1 minute to play in the game. Davis would ultimately hold on for the victory. Ath Donald Lundy had a huge day for the Senators with just under 100yds rushing and 10 tackles on defense.

DreamKingFilmz game of the week will be between the Lakeshore Warriors and the Jeb Stuart Raiders. With both teams coming off a bye, they each took a slight dip in this week's polls to the surging Highlands Wildcats and the Gilbert Panthers. You can expect the winner of this big district matchup to rise up after Tuesday.

The Landmark Seahawks remain undefeated by grounding the Mandarin Hawks 32-20.

The 1st half belonged to the Seahawks as they dominated Mandarin with their rushing attack led by Zaiire Gaitling who had over 200 rushing and TDs, and Rashay Bradley who also had 2 Tds. After leading 14-0 at the half the Seahawks would open the lead up to 20-0 with a 12yd td run by Rashay Bradley. Cardarrius Mosley would match the score on the hawks ensuing drive with a 60yd TD run to cut the lead to 20-6. Zaiire Gatling would take flight once again with a 55yd TD run to widen the lead to 26-6 at the end of the 3rd.

Mandarin's 4th quarter surge led by Jaylen Pettway's 45yd catch and run for a TD, and Tiant Wyche's 10yd TD run would make for an interesting finish as the Hawks cut the lead to 26-20. Landmark would recover the onside kick and Zaiire Gaitling would seal the Hawks fate with a 38yd back breaking TD run. Landmark will travel Tuesday to take on undefeated Mayport Sharks, who won 36-4 over Darnell Cookman. If the Sharks can take out heavy weight Landmark they will make a huge jump into next week's polls. Mandarin will travel to face the winless Dupont Dragons, in a game where both teams need a win to keep track with the surging Landon Lions.

Coming off a overtime loss to Stuart the Arlington Vikings got things turned around by dominating the Twin Lakes T'Wolves 18-0. The big man Sayvion Blount would put the Vikings on the board on their 1st possession taking a pass from QB Quentaze Andrews and rumbling 35yds to take a 6-0 1st quarter lead. In the 2nd quarter Ath Demarcus Allen would take a punt 65yds to the house, and Quentaze Andrews would hook up with Shawn Ervin on a 20yd TD as time expired to take the 18-0 half time lead. The Vikings defense led by Sayvion Blount, K'morie Gilcrist and a steady rain shower in the 2nd half would help slow down the Wolves hunt for their 1st victory of the year. Arlington will host winless Kernan Ospreys, while Twin Lakes will take on anther Viking in Darnell Cookman who's also looking for their 1st win.

Surprise team Landon Landon Lions are off to a fast start as they remain undefeated with a 28-6 win over the Fort Caroline Cavaliers. The Lions look to continue their streak over winless South Side Knights. If Landon can secure the import district victory, they can make a leap up in next week's polls.
