DEMARIO DOUGLAS RECORD BREAKING GAME HELPS MANDARIN WIN 2018 8A STATE TITLE VS COLUMBUS

The Mandarin Mustangs won their first ever state football state championship by defeating the Columbus Explorers 37-35. Ath DeMario "Poppa" Douglas hauled in 9 catches for 141yds, 4 TDs, and he also logged 5 tackles and 1 crucial interception. Poppa's record breaking performance prompted U.S senator Marco Rubio to send out a tweet encouraging the University of Florida to recruit Douglas. Douglas has now committed to Liberty University.

Alabama commit QB Carson Beck had a huge game as well completing 25 out of 36 passes for 330 yards and 5 TD passes. FIU signee Kris Mitchell had 118yds on 7recs and 1TD. UT-M commit Ath Darian "DayDay" had 7recs for 63yds and 10 tackles on defense to help Mandarin become only the 2nd public school in Duval Co. to win a football state championship.
