Coach Wiley post game interview

In preseason action, the Raines Vikings traveled to the westside to face off against an old rival in the Ed White Commanders. Raines DB Kyree Hammond would pick off a pass on the 1st play of the game and return it 25yds to the house to spark off a scoring downpour by the Vikings. Hammond would end the contest with 3 interceptions. The Vikings' overall defense played lights out as they gave up next to nothing to the Commanders.

Offensively the Vikings rolled the Commanders as new look Qb Adrian Williams seemed to have full control leading Raines on two 1st half scoring drives, the first of which he hook up with Kareem Burke on a 32yd diving catch before eventually score on a short TD run to give Raines an early 13-0 lead. On the Vikings ensuing possession Williams would have a promising drive end inside the 10 as DB Cornelius Cooks would intercept a pass intended for. RB Jaylin Williams would cap the Viks' second drive with a short TD run to give Raines the 20-0 in the bottom of the 2nd quarter. The Vikings defense would keep the clamps tight on the Commanders' offense from the 1st play of the game to the last play of the 2nd quarter as Kyree Hammond would collect his 2nd interception by hauling in a tipped pass by Jarius Stewart.

Back up QB Carlton '' Maru'' Butler also made some big plays as he hooked up with WR/DE Reggie Harden on a 90+ yard pass play to give Raines a 27-0 lead. DB Reshawn Lattimore would tip up the Commanders' ensuing pass attempt and the opportunistic Hammond would clean it up for his 3rd pick of the game. Butler would give the Viks a 34-0 on a short QB keeper.

Jarius Stewart, and Marcellus Swangin would both add short TD runs to end the scoring downpour. Raines would defeat Ed White 47-0.

The Vikings will take on state power house 5A Orlando Jones this Friday at 6pm in the Graveyard, and Ed White will host the First Coast Bucs at 6pm.
