The 20-3 Lady Vikings edged out the 14-5 Lady Trojans 48-46 to advance to the Gateway Conference Tournament final vs host Sandalwood.

The Vikings' defense led by PF Teyana Carswell, and G Nyla Allen would start the game off stifling the Trojans offense as the held them scoreless to well under the 3 minute mark of the 1st frame. Carswell would finish with team highs of 15pts 11rbs and 4blks. Allen would register 6 steals on the night. G Selah Reddick would log 13pts, and G Ahliah Brown would connect on (3) 3s and finish with 11pts. Jada Atkins led all scorers on the night with 19pts and (3) 3s, and had a huge 4th quarter as she helped the Trojans erase an 11pt deficit to put Ribault in position to win the game.

Selah Reddick's fast start would give the Viks a 7-0 late Q1 lead until Trojans' SG Jada Atkins would nail a corner 3 in front of the Vikings bench, followed by a layup to cut the Vikings to 7-5 to close out the fist period. Reddick and Atkins were the only two players to score in the 1st frame. Reddick would bury an 18ft jumper from the top of the key to open the 2nd frame.

Down 11-5 at the 6:00 minute mark, Jada Atkins stepped in front of a pass intended for Ahliah Brown, and finished off the play with a layup cutting the lead to 11-7. Teyana Carswell would bang in a layup, Nyla Allen would hit two free throws, and Ahliah Brown would nail a her 1st 3 pointer of the game to give the Vikings a 19-7 lead with 3:21 to play in the 1st half.

Trojans' Asia Fleming would nail a corner front of the Viks' bench. A block by Peris Starks would lead to Fleming's 2nd consecutive 3 point shot. Fleming's 3 pointer would cut the lead to 19-16. On the Viks ensuing trip up the court Ahliah Brown would split 2 defenders and connect on a scooping layup. Brown would miss the subsequent free throw as she was fouled on the shot attempt. A basket by Naudia Wilson would give the Viks a 23-16 lead. Ahliah Brown would nail her 2nd 3 pointer of the period as time expired to give Raines the 26-16 halftime lead.

At halftime, Selah Reddick would lead all scorers with 9pts, Ahliah Brown would have 8pts, and Jada Atkins would lead the way for the Trojans with 7pts.

Teyana Carswell would score the first 4 points to start the 3rd quarter. Carswell would block the ensuing shot attempt by Jada Atkingsand Selah Reddick would it a 15ft jumper to cap a 6-0 run. Peris Starks 15ft shot would give the Trojans their 1st points of the quarter. Viks' Nyla Allen would match the bucket as she connected on a up and under layup attempt. Jada Atkins aggressively would crash the lane to collect the missed three point shot by Fleming and put it back to score her 1st points of the 2nd half.

Raines would lead the game 34-20 with 3:35 to play in the 3rd period.

Trojans' Isis Triplett would dive on the floor and dig out a loose ball that would lead to a Peris Starks layup. On the Trojans' ensuing trip up the court, Triplett would gather a rebound and connect on a lay up to cut the Viks' lead to 34-24. From the corner in front of her own bench, Viks' Ahliah Brown would nail her 3rd 3 pointer of the game to put the Viks back up 37-24. Trojans' Asia Fleming would match Brown's shot by nailing her 3rd 3 pointer of the game from in front of the Trojans' bench. Mesi Triplett would hit a free throw, and register a steal late in the 3rd period. Viks' Teyana Carswell would hit a layup to end all scoring in the 3rd period, and Raines would take a 39-28 lead into the final frame.

To start the 4th quarter, Peris Starks would get the Trojans on the board first with a free throw, and Teyana Carswell would score the Viks' would hit a layup to score the Viks 1st points of the period. Trojans' Jada Atkins would nail her second 3 pointer of the game, and Asia Fleming would hit a basket to cut the lead to 41-34. Carswell would help Raines stretch their lead to 45-34 with 2 layups. Shayla Buie's 3 pointer would spark a late surge by the Trojan. Peris Starks would collect a loose ball at half court, then dish to Atkins for a layup.

The score would be 45-39. Starks would create another turnover that would lead to an Atkins 23 footer that would cut Raines lead to 45-42 with 1:42 to play in the game. Myleah Hampton would hit a lay up to stretch the Viks' lead to 47-42.

With 28 seconds Trojans Kendra Williams would miss a pair of free throws but Peris Starks would reel in the rebound and connect on a layup. The score would be 47-44. Nyla Allen would hit 1 of 2 free throws to give Raines the 48-44 lead. Under 20 seconds remaining in the game Jada Atkins would dribble past 2 defenders at half court then go up over Teyana Carswell with 6 seconds left for a lay up to cut the Viks lead to 48-46. The time would expire as Raines inbounded the ball, and the Vikings would escape with the 48-46 win.
