RAINES VIKINGS 2-0 AFTER 19pt WIN OVER WESTSIDE

The Wolverines would come into the contest looking to get things turned around after losing big on the road to the Ribault Trojans to open the season. Wolverines' Carl Davis would cut the Viks' lead to 7 after putting back a missed 3pt attempt and connecting on a up and under layup. The Vikings will travel to face the 2-0 Ribault Trojans Saturday before returning back to "The Paint" to host Baldwin on the 4th and the high flying First Coast Bucs led by 1 of the city's best guards Tyree Saunders on the 8th. The Wolverines will open up a 4 game home stand today starting with the Fletcher Senators.

Coach Showers hopes the Vikings win over Westside will give a spark to the football team whom many was in attendance to watch their 3x state champ basketball team play. The 11-1 Vikings will host 8-5 Dunnellon Tigers tonight at 7:30pm for the right to go to the 4A state championship game. The Vikings will be led by their alltime leading rusher Mercer commit RB Brandon Marshall, and a stifling defense led by Iowa St. commit Aric Horne. Look for Howard Ford and the rest of the offensive line to open up plenty holes up front Marshall as he will continue his reign of terror over the Tigers to help send them packing for the winter as Raines will clock Dunnellon.
