The 9-1 Raines Vikings defend their 4A state title tonight vs the 5-4-1 Marianna Bulldogs in round 2 of the playoffs. The Bulldogs defeated the Rutherford Rams 31-20 in round 1, while the Vikings are come coming a bye as they finished the regular season the #1 ranked team in 4A region 1, and DKF's #4 Jacksonville area team. After starting the season 0-4 Marianna will come into the contest on a 5 game win streak. The Vikings will come into the game on a 9 game win streak and will be led by their all-time rushing leader RB Brandon Marshall. Marshall has 1448 regular season rushing yards and 19 TDs. If Howard Ford, Bryant Maddox and the rest of the offensive line can gel early look for Marshall to have a field day and add on to his 3,481yds and 53td career totals.

QB Barron Coates sits with 27 total TDs on the season and will look to light up the Bulldogs defense tonight. 8 of Coates 24 passing TDs were hauled the playmaker Daivarus Thomas. Thomas also has 3 punt return TDs on the year. Coates has a long line of targets he will be looking to hit outside of Thomas such as Matt Drayton 5tds, Keto Burke 4Tds, Davian Holliman 3Tds Jaquez Griffin 3 TDs. Ath Jacourey Rivers has 4 TDs on the season 2 rushing 1 passing and 1 receiving. Jamond Handy will also provide the Vikings a spark on offense when the ball lands in his hands.

For the Vikings on defense, they will be led by a flurry of pass rushers in Iowa St. commit Aric Horne, Javon Bonsell, Janorris Robertson, Dayvon Pinkney, Derek Nealy and Nigel Allen. The Vikings have just as many athletes in the secondary, and have 10 combined INts Uriah Ratliff 4, James Tarver 3, and Treyvon Hobbs 3. Both Ratliff, and Tarver each have a pick 6. Reavon Tribune, and Jarius Stewart are the hitters of the secondary and play huge roles in stuffing the run. With Jamon Goodwine controlling thing up front both the pass rusher and cover guys should have a feast vs Marianna's offense.

With that much fire power, Raines may be just to much for Marianna to handle and should score atleast 42 points on offense and 1 defensive or special teams score. The Vikings should win this game big and be able to get some early film study on South Walton vs West Nassau as they'll face 1 of those teams in round 2 next week at home.
