DKF SPRING TOUR: 1ST STOP - 3X 4A STATE CHAMPS RAINES VIKINGS

2020 DB TREYVON HOBBS

COACH WILEY CONCLUDING PRACTICE

RAINES VIKINGS 2K19 SPRING OUTLOOK

NORTHSIDE JACKSONVILLE, FL -

After bringing home back2back 4A state title trophies, the new look Vikings are gearing up this spring to prepare for another run at the FHSAA's big dance in December. 5'11 170lb 2020 DB Treyvon Hobbs, and 6'4 330lb 2020 OL Marquell Holbert will lead the 2019 Viks on their quest to raise a third straight title trophy.

Hobbs a smart, physical and feisty playmaker will be leaned on heavily as he's played a significant role in the Viks' secondary over the past two seasons. Hobbs displayed his athletic ability on the state's biggest stage last season with a fourth quarter pick6 versus Cocoa to help close out the Tigers 27-13 and deliver Raines their third state title in school history. After splashing on the scene last year with 5 Ints, Treyvon has thrown his name into the hat of the area's best DBS in the 2020 class. He's received offers from Liberty, South Alabama, Southern Miss., and has also gained the attention of the Florida Gators. Outside of banging with RBs, and picking off passes Hobbs greatest attribute is his knowledge of the game. A 3.7GPA student athlete, Hobbs will also be counted on to help get the young guys up to speed with the playbook.

VIKINGS DBS

2021 ATH NICK PARKER

2020 DBs Jarius Stewart, and William Johnson will also have major roles in the secondary this season. Stewart, and Johnson are just as physical as Hobbs and they each love to step up and lay the wood in the run game. Ath Nick Parker cover skills, and pass rushing abilities have him in a unique position to put up some big numbers this season. Rising seniors 6'1 285lb DT Jamon Goodwin will continue to be a force in the trenches for the Vikings and Olb Derek Nealy will take over LB core as the premier edge rusher for Raines.

2022 DB Kyree Hammond will get some major burn this season after receiving some varsity reps as a freshman. Once Hammond gets all the way adjusted to the speed of varsity football, and masters coach Wiley's playbook he will undoubtedly become a top recruit in North Florida, and maybe the country.

MARQUELL HOLBERT

LEANORD HARRIS

LEANORD HARRIS

The big man Marquell Holbert will continue to help pave the way for the Vikings' rushing attack, and will anchor the line in the passing game. Holbert, an aggressive, and massive guy is excellent in both run, and pass blocking and should land a ton of offers after scouts get to see him in full action this spring. 2020 First Coast transfer Leanord Harris looks to lead a young speedy group of backs. Harris a speedster himself, could potentially have a breakout senior campaign running behind Holbert. 2022 Adrian O'Neal, and 2020 Nijel Smith will be in the mix for carries as well. 2021 ATh LeJames Harris could step up and challenge the elder Harris for a load of carries. If both Harrises could gel as one they could be a nice 1-2 punch for the offense.

ATH CARLTON BUTLER - QB ADRIAN WILLIAMS

VIKINGS WRS - REGGIE HARDEN. MIKIH MCGHEE. MARKEL GUNDER. DEJOHN DAVIS. JAYLIN SMITH

2020 Adrian Williams will be challenged by 2022 Carlton Butler for the right to sit atop the depth chart heading into this summer at the QB position. Butler could also shape into one of the area's leading safeties by the time he graduates. Who ever gets the nod as the signal caller will be pleased as the Viks once again will have a ton a athletes on the outside. The 11.0 100M sprinter Dejohn Davis, and Mikih Mcghee will step into the fray as the lead receivers. Mcghee has an unique skill set that will allow him to make a huge splash this season at WR, and DB. 6'4 Reggie Harden, and 6'6 Jaylin Smith will also provide some big targets. Smith a Transfer from Dutchtown H.S. (ATL) will also see plenty of work at the defensive end spot. Look for Markel Gunder, and the youngster Kareem Burke to be two Xfactors for the Vikings' offense. Although they're a relatively unknown, and inexperienced group of guys, the receivers are eager to prove their just as good as any core in years past.

The road to state will be different and far more challenging as Raines was recently moved up to one of Florida's hardest divisions, class 5A. The move will also mean the annual NorthWest Classic versus Ribault will have district-4 playoff implications. The host site of the FHSAA's state finals was moved as well with 1A-4A to be played in Tallahassee at Gene Cox Stadium, and 5A-8A slated to play in Daytona at BCU.

As always, one of Florida's best head coaches Deran Wiley will have his troops ready to go, and fully prepared for the challenges of this upcoming season. The Vikings will travel to Volusia County to play in a jamboree versus Spruce Creek, and state powerhouse Apopka Blue Daters on May 17th.
