TC'S FRED DAVIS TACKLES MARQUEZ BELL IN 31-30 WIN OVER COLUMBIA

JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA-

Trinity vs Columbia or as many had it billed "The Clash of The Titans" was as advertised and lived up to all the hype by serving the fans adversity, controversy, a ton of big plays, and a thrilling ending in which the Conquerors came out victorious 31-30. Before Hurricanes commit RB Marcus could take off for 266yds and 3tds on 33 carries, and before WR TJ Jones registered 120 receiving yards, both teams would have to battle a little adversity by having to wait nearly 24 hours to officially get the game kicked off due to inclement weather last Friday. When asked about the affects of the delay DB Stephen said "We Was Ready To Play Last Night, It Kind Of Got Us a Little Anxious But It Got Us Hungrier Cause We Wanted To Come Out Here And Make Plays In Front Of The Big Crowd."

Controversy would be a common theme in the game as TC's DT Latrell Wade recovered a fumbled snap on the 1st play of the game but the Tigers retained possession due to an early whistle. TC's side of the stadium would erupt with the chant Duuuvvaalll Duuuvvaalll as Marcus Crowley made the game's 2nd big play with a 5yd TD run cashing in on a errant snap by the Tigers in which LB Cj Lockett recovered and returned to the 12. After trading punts, Columbia's 2nd drive of the game would be kept alive after TC was hit with a taunting call after the Tigers failed to convert 3rd and long. A nice run by RB Kylen Callum would set up WR TJ Jones 45yd catch and run to the 1yd line. A short TD toss from Smith to WR Bobby Fulton would be negated due to an illegal man down field call. LB Andrew Brown would come up with a huge sack to force Columbia to Kick a 38yd FG to cap the 11 play 65yd drive.

The Columbia side of the stadium would begin to turn the tide in the battle of the chants yelling ZOOLIFE as they saw their Tigers take a 17-7 lead after Smith connected with Bobby Fulton on a deep pass, then once again on a 6yd crossing route for the 10 point halftime lead.

SATURDAY MATCHUP. FRED DAVIS VS TJ JONES

The 3rd quarter would be long to TC as they would take control of the game by scoring 3 touchdowns in the period. The 1st would come on the 2nd play of the period as Marcus Crowley would explode for a 68yd td run to cut into the Tiger's lead 17-14.

DB Stephen Williams diving INT would set up a Jacory Jordan o Isaiah Washington 14yd TD hook up and 21-17 lead. LB/DB Lucious Lattimore would intercept the Tigers ensuing pass at Columbia's 33 to give TC's even more reason to scream Duuvvaaalll Duuuvvaaalll. over the now silent, and stunned Tiger's side of the stadium. Jordan would hook up with Malik Myers to get the ball to the 19 before TC would turn it back over on a fumbled snap that DB Scott Brooks would return across midfield.

after a ton of flags and a delay by the refs to sort out all of the flags, Jordan Smith would hit TJ Jones on a pass that he'd take to the1 yard line. On the next play a fumbled snap would give the ball right back to TC at their own 5. Jacory Jordan would hit Isaiah Washington on a 35yd play to get TC out of the hole, Malik Myers would nearly jump on top of a house to make a 30yd completion to give TC a 1st down at the 32. X Factor Kaleb Killian would take a handoff to the 20 but the promising drive would stall out and end with Mike Scippio blocking a TC FG attempt. The Conquerors defense would momentarily unravel on the Tigers next drive getting het with a helmet to helmet call and 4 offsides penalties to set up another controversial call against Columbia when Bobby Fulton took a short pass from Jordan Smith and turned up field, and dropped the ball after reaching for the pylon. The Tigers thought they had retook the lead but the refs ruled the catch incomplete. Columbia fans argued that the called should have been ruled a touchdown or down at the 1, while TC fans argued it should have been a touchback, and not incomplete. Kylen Callum would ultimately give the Tigers the lead at 24-21 on a 5yd run. After Kaleb Killian return to midfield, the crowd would ignite yet again as Marcus Crowley popped a 50yd TD run to retake the lead at 28-24 to end the action packed 3rd quarter.

The big man William Tippens sack on 4th down would give TC the ball yet again with a chance to stick a dagger in Columbia. 8th grade phenom Treyaun Webb would make a critical 25yd catch on 3rd and 6 to extend the drive. A fumbled snap

the Conquerors would cap the 9 play 42yd drive with a 36yd field goal to take a 31-24 lead with just under 3 to play in the game. The 4-1 Sandalwood Saints are coming off an double overtime loss to district rival Flagler PalmCoast 28-27 will host the red hot Raines Viking whos sitting at 5-1 and coming off an bye week. Sandalwood needs to win this game to keep track with Mandarin in the points race after taking a back seat to the Bulldogs in the drive for the 8a district title. For the Viking their game plan will be simple, feed Brandon Marshall and take the deep shot as they become available.

Monday the Ribault Trojans defeated the Paxon Eagles 22-7 to get an important 2nd district 5a win. The Trojans will travel this Thursday to face the Lee Generals who defeated the Atlantic Coast Stingrays 34-32 last saturday to keep track with Columbia and Fletcher in 7a.
